The final curtain has fallen on the 46th LUCAS Film Festival, and the juries have awarded their prizes. However, school classes, children’s and youth groups can still stream the competition’s short films until Christmas.
Due to their short running time, form and multi-layered themes, short films offer enormous potential for immersing young people in film education in the classroom and providing food for thought for dealing with social issues. This year, LUCAS will once again make the short film competition entries available to school classes, children’s as well as youth groups on the DFF Kino+ streaming platform beyond the festival period. The five short film programs are suitable for different age groups and will be available until December 23, 2023, so that teachers can flexibly and individually incorporate them into their curriculum.
The short film offer can be booked via the LUCAS website until December 10. On DFF Kino+, all short films of the program can be viewed in the curated order or each short film individually. After registration, the teacher of the class or the supervisor to the group will receive a code that provides access to the content.
Prices depend on the number of people in the group/class:
10,00 € for groups up to ten persons
15,00 € for groups up to 29 persons
20,00 € for groups from 30 persons
All non-German language films have either German or English subtitles. Films with an age recommendation up to and including 13 years have a selectable and deselectable German language voice-overs.
Educational materials (in German) accompanying the short film programs can be found here.
Attention: The short film programs are only available for streaming within Germany.
